Calling it right now, if it's not on PC, it's dead in the water.
Regardless of which console (yech, I said the c word) it ends up on. PS3? Outdated, no one will use it. PS4? Then to play that and DUST and EVE I need 3 separate machines, too much hassle.
PC or go home. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

PC or go home. No one said that YOU were the one that is gonna play it. Stop bein self eccentric, the world doesnt resolve around you.
No one said that... what?
Yes, I'm going to play it. Or try to, unless they waste their time and put it on a console like they did with DUST.
Asking them to do some smart marketing this time isn't too much to ask? Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Guess what? That means console isn't even in consideration. Nope, sorry, it doesn't... Sony is developing a similar device based on the same principles for PS4.
And, one could conclude that MS is or will be attempting to do the same.
Oculus goofed up, imo, by revealing before the next gen console release. If they had posted it after, they'd have given the respective companies a lot to worry about to try and fit them backwards compatible with their consoles. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Not sure what the actual metrics are for people purchasing goods are but I would bet most of the hardcore players do...
Even if, by the generous metric of 50%, you account for the hardcore players buying stuff, that's only about 2-3k.
CCP spent years on this, and probably lots of dough to boot. They also have to pay for the servers.
For 2-3 thousand people? There is no equation where that isn't a colossal waste of time. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Not true. Most MMOs start out acceptably strong then bleed off players after a few months.
DUST is just a flop. They tried, I get it. And now it's coupled in with EVE, so it's not easily gotten rid of.
But we still get to say "We told you so". Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |

Quote:interesting fact eve was also a flop... but it had hardcore dedicated players who helped the game evolve to what it is today...
The difference is that those people paid subs. No one does for DUST. Sure, maybe some of them pay for "boosters", but you can't tell me that the majority do.
Heck, anyone I've mentioned it to automatically tells me that there isn't much in "playing a P2W shooter". Or they say "I'll stick to Planetside 2 since it's on PC".
The console game crowd doesn't like it(they are spoiled for choice anyway), the PC game crowd can't play it. What about that spells success? I guarantee you that they are losing money just on maintaining the game and staff for the game. Which means that our EVE subs are paying for it, too.
[Edit: What I'm saying is this. Why not PC? Why freaking soon-to-be-completely-replaced PS3? Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á |
